Some travellers like an established name when booking a hotel abroad, and the Hilton name always does well. But there are five in Paris, so which Paris Hilton is best?
An established name brand like Hilton offers travellers reassurance when going overseas on business or trying to find a good vacarion hotel. Hilton hotels may not offer cutting-edge design or boutique hotel intimacy, but they can be relied upon to be comfortable and secure. There are five Paris Hiltons to choose from, so which one is best depends on the needs of the individual traveller.

If you’re flying into or out of the Paris Orly Airport, the Hilton here is just three minutes away from the terminal, using a free shuttle transfer service. Room rates are much cheaper than for city centre Hiltons, but that city centre is 11 miles away. It is not a journey you would want to make every day, as it involves changing from the Orlyval Train Shuttle onto the RER line. Orly is closed to flights from midnight-6am, and the hotel is soundproofed too, so it’s a good choice if flying out early or arriving late, but not for sightseeing in Paris.

Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
American and most other international travelers flying to Paris will use Charles de Gaulle Airport, the main airport for international flights. This is northeast of the city centre, further away than Orly but an easier journey. It takes about 30 minutes to get into the city centre on the RER line, and the airport is only 5 minutes away on a free shuttle service. Staying here as a base for a few days in Paris would be possible, but again a city centre hotel is much more convenient if sightseeing.

This is one of the most central of the Paris Hilton hotels, though about a 10-minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees. It’s close to the Parc de Monceau and the boulevard Haussmann and has its own spa, bar and Asian-style restaurant.

Out in the stylish and stunning modern business district of La Defense, this Paris Hilton would only be your choice if you were planning to spend a lot of time on business here. It’s not too far from the centre on the metro, and the Grande Arche of La Defense was designed to be right in line with the Arc de Triomphe.

The hotel that is actually called the Hilton Paris is almost literally in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, on the left bank of the Seine. It looks out over the Champs de Mars park, in which the Eiffel Tower stands, and combines business facilities with a romantic location – easily the best choice for the business or leisure traveller who wants to be in the middle of the Paris action.
