Ever since an Englishman cleared a footpath along the Bay of Angels on the French Riviera, the rich and famous have come to the stylish resort of Nice to enjoy warm winters and stunning scenery. Luxury hotels soon appeared along the waterfront and the footpath grew into the world famous Promenade des Anglais.

Five Star Luxury in Nice, Hotel Negresco, French Riviera
This 5 star leading hotel of the world faces the promenade, within walking distance of the old town. Built in 1912 for princes and the likes of Singer and Rockefeller, the Negresco is a listed national monument, claiming a stylish façade, sumptuous lobby with crystal dome and numerous works of art collected by his owner and exhibited in guestrooms and public spaces.

Overlooking city and sea, La Pérouse is a boutique hotel with 58 rooms and 4 suites at the foot of Castle Hill. Modern comforts blend well with the traditional Provençal décor and include outdoor pool, panoramic solarium, sauna and fitness room.

Refurbished in 2004, the Palais de la Méditerranée has retained its original Art Deco façade overlooking the Bay of Angels. The hotel is nine storeys high and the 188 rooms and 12 suites are located on the top six floors. Superior rooms have contemporary furnishings, Deluxe are in natural soothing colours.
The hub of activity is on the third floor with sun terrace, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, lounge and fitness centre, including sauna and Turkish bath.
