Paris Hotel with Restaurants & Bistros NearbyWithin Walking Distance of all the Sights but in Residential Area
It is difficult to find just the right hotel in a city like Paris, but the 4* Boutique Hôtel Ampere is perfect for sightseeing and dining and is in a quiet neighbourhood.
A short walk up the wide Avenue de Villiers, turn right at the lights into Avenue Wagram and already the Arc de Triomphe, famous symbol of the French Republic, can be seen. Poised at the top of the Champs-Elysées the Arc de Triomphe stands proudly in the middle of the thoroughfare while on the nearby pavements artists are selling their paintings, flower-sellers are calling their wares, and tourists, cameras hung around their necks, are jostling for position. From the hotel the Metro and RER are two minutes walk away with Central Paris and all it has to offer, just 15 minutes away. Staff are friendly and helpful, tolerant of poor French, and the reception staff all speak English. Views from the HotelThe hotel has 96 rooms and suites and from the front rooms on the higher floors, the Eiffel Tower is visible. On a summer’s night there is nothing more pleasant than sitting on the balcony of a room at the Hôtel Ampere sipping a glass of chilled wine and watching the flood-lit Tower in the distance as dusk creeps across the rooftops. The buildings opposite have interesting windows and chimneys, maybe not as charming as the red roofs of Tuscany, but interesting and quirky - definitely Parisien. Food at the Hôtel Ampere The hotel restaurant, Le Jardin d’Ampere, is a well-known Paris eatery and attracts an elegant local clientele, but the in-room menu is excellent and if tired after a journey, a balcony meal can be more than adequate: the wine list is quite exceptional for a hotel of this size and standard. The bar has very comfortable seating and leads on to a sun room and garden terrace. There is a pleasant garden where breakfast is served but many people chose to have this in their rooms (at the moment there is no extra charge for this). There are a few restaurants within minutes of the hotel, one opposite where a musician often comes to serenade the diners outside, and three or four to the right of the hotel as you exit, offering good value for excellent quality food. Rooms and Facilities at the Hôtel Ampere All the spacious rooms and suites in the hotel include free WiFi which is also available in the lobby lounge, the bathrooms are elegant and larger than normal for a city hotel and the amenities are from the upmarket L’occitane range. The beds are extremely comfortable, fitted with choice linens all designed for the perfect night’s sleep. As well as the usual facilities the rooms are provided with safe, a mini-bar, and a daily newspaper is delivered if needed. Car parking for guests having their own transport is arranged and pets can be accommodated (but please give notice of this). The Hôtel Ampere is also the collection point for travellers embarking and returning from the canal tours of Burgundy operated by GoBarging.com and as such makes the perfect overnight stop for anyone travelling on one of these superb wine-tasting barge trips.
