Ground transportation to Paris-Orly (ORY) Airport has always been somewhat expensive and complicated. Opportunities to integrate rail transportation to Orly with the Paris suburban RER train and metro networks have been missed. For budget travelers, the cheapest options are buses to the closest RER and metro stations. Les Cars Air France buses have more convenient direct shuttle services to central Paris while small groups may find taxis or private airport shuttles that go directly to hotels worth the splurge.
Taxis and Private Airport Shuttles to Aéroport Paris-Orly (ORY)
Paris-Orly Airport is around 15 km (10 miles) south of Paris. Depending on traffic conditions and point of departure, driving times can be as short as 20 minutes but half an hour or longer is more likely. Taxi fares are according to the meter but are generally around €40 from central Paris and €60 from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport. The fare can be significantly more expensive during rush hour.
Many private and shared airport shuttle services are available from Orly to Paris. These shuttles are best booked in advance. Many different companies offer airport shuttle transfers making it worth comparing prices online prior to reserving.

RER and Métro Trains to Paris-Orly Airport (ORY)
Suburban RER and metro trains do not run directly to Paris-Orly Airport. However, several stations near Orly Airport have dedicated connections to the airport. Trains run generally from around 5 am to 11 pm with frequencies of every 15 to 30 minutes.
- RER Line C – Pont de Rungis & Paris par le Train Buses
The cheapest way to Orly Airport from downtown Paris is to use RER line C to the station Pont de Rungis / Aéroport d’Orly. From here, use the “Paris par le train” shuttle bus service to the airport. Total fare is €6.10 for a journey taking generally just less than an hour.
- RER Line B – Antony & ORLYVAL
The second RER station close to Orly Airport is Antony on RER Line B. From Antony, use the automated metro ORLYVAL directly to the airport. This route is often faster but also dearer at €9.30 one-way.
RER B3 trains go all the way to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and offer an alternative to Les Cars Air France buses for transit passengers.
- Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau Metro Station
Several bus services are available from Orly Airport to metro stations. However, the Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau metro station on lines M4 and M6 (and RER B) is of real interest to most tourists. The one-way fare is €6.10.
Les Cars Air France to Paris-Orly Airport (ORY)
Many travelers prefer the comfort of the luxury shuttle buses used by Les Cars Air France from central Paris to Orly Airport as no transfers, stairways, or busy stations need to be navigated with luggage.
Les Cars Air France buses operate on two routes from downtown Paris to Orly running generally every 30 minutes from around 6 am to 10 pm:
- Line 1 runs from Invalides via Gare Montparnasse to Aéroport Orly in around 30 minutes.
- Line 1* runs from Etoile via Gare Montparnasse to Aéroport Orly in around 50 minutes.
The one-way fare on either route is €11.50 (€18.50 return).
- Les Cars Air France also has a direct bus service for transit passengers between Orly (ORY) and Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airports.
Noctilien Night Buses
Noctilien Night Buses operate generally once per hour from around 11 pm to 5 pm. Line N31 connects Paris-Orly Airport with Gare de Lyon, while night bus N120 goes all the way to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport with stops en route amongst others at Gare d’Austerlitz, Gare de Lyon, Bastille, Châtelet, Gare de l’Est, and Gare du Nord.
Val d’Europe Airports Shuttles (VEA) to Disneyland Resort Paris
Val d’Europe Airports (VEA) shuttle buses connect Disneyland Resort Paris (Marne la Vallée-Chessy) and Paris-Orly Airport in around 45 minutes. These shuttle buses stop at many Disneyland hotels en route and are €17 one-way. For small groups, a private airport shuttle service directly to the desired hotel may be price competitive and more convenient.
- Ground transportation to both airports in Paris (Orly and Charles de Gaulle) seems at first glance fairly complicated. It is not entirely surprising that many travelers, especially on a first visit after a long intercontinental flight, prefer the convenience of taxis or private airport shuttle services. For individual travelers, Les Cars Air France shuttle buses are a good alternative to reach central Paris without the need of transfers at busy stations en route.
