A North American Sports Bar in ParisWatch Televised Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey in France
Traveling to one of the world's great cities doesn't mean having to give up on following favorite sports teams back home thanks to "The Moose" sports bar in Paris.
A traveler can fill an entire day inParis with activities that can’t be found anywhere else. From looking at some of the world’s great art at the Musée d'Orsay to exploring each of the different levels of the Eiffel Tower to watching the famed performances at the Crazy Horse, the City of Lights is a place that can’t be beat. However, there might just be one thing nagging at a traveler while experiencing this incredible destination – the thought of missing a favorite team playing in the big game back in North America. Even travelers who can appreciate all Paris has to offer still have strong loyalties to football, basketball, baseball or hockey teams they’ve been following since childhood. Even though it’s fun to take in all of the foreign flavor of this famous city, sometimes one yearns for the comforts of home – like hearing people debating in English the best play call for a third and long situation over beers and burgers. It turns out Paris really is a city that has everything – in this case, a Canadian sports bar called “The Moose,” located just off Boulevard St-Germain near the Odeon stop on the Metro. The St-Germain-des-Prés area is within easy reach of most of the areas of the cities where tourists tend to stay. In terms of food, The Moose offers all of the traditional fare one would expect to find in a North American sports bar such as burgers, sandwiches and salads, but also has traditional plates from Quebec. Upon entering The Moose, it almost immediately feels like one has entered a sports bar back home. English is the dominant language. The labels on beer bottles look familiar. The smell of burgers on the grill spills out of the kitchen. And most importantly, the TVs are showing American football (the kind with helmets), basketball, baseball or hockey depending on the time of year. Watch American and Canadian Sports TeamsLive and tape-delayed coverage of favorite American and Canadian team sports is available thanks to networks such as the North American Sports Networks and Sky Sports. Of course, a 7 p.m. start for a game on the East Coast in America means the middle of the night in Paris, but The Moose keeps odd hours, particularly for big events, which, of course, isn’t terribly unusual in Paris. For example, as part of a New Year’s celebration in Paris, one can show up at The Moose the night after ringing in the New Year in time to catch part of the Rose Bowl where fans of both teams can be found cheering late into the night. The Moose 16 Rue de Quatre Vents, Paris, 75006 Telephone – 01-46-33-77-00 Hours - Monday - Thursday 4pm to 2am Friday - Sunday 11am - 2am Thanks to technology, the world today is growing smaller than every before. Travelers can now enjoy far off places while still keeping in touch with favorite activities and pastimes back home. Thanks to The Moose, travelers can enjoy all that Paris has to offer while never having to miss the big game back in the States.
